Washington, D.C., December 11, 2024 – Signal Group, a leading integrated public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., has created a comprehensive analysis of the conservative media landscape in America. The Right-Wing Media Map shows how outlets outside the traditional mainstream are shaping broader coverage and discourse around politics and policy today.
As the media environment continues to fracture into partisan wings, a trend that accelerated during the latest election cycle, Signal Group mapped out the conservative media ecosystem to assess the key platforms and players. The project resulted in a detailed examination broken down into three categories across the conservative ideological spectrum: Far-Right, Conservative Right, Traditional Right, as well as an assessment of the social media platforms used by the conservative movement.
“These are the outlets read by Republicans in congress, their staff, and the leaders of the media ecosystem shaping the America First movement,” said Julian Graham, a Director at Signal Group who led the research for this analysis. “If you want to know what’s informing their decisions, or why conservative voters are more bullish on this policy or cabinet appointment versus another, then it’s essential to understand the sources and individuals driving these narratives.”
In addition to describing each outlet, with context on its founding and current operation, the map also identifies the key personalities behind them. It outlines which voices hold the most influence among various segments of the U.S. government – an insight that became more valuable in the wake of the election – as well as those who are reaching the largest audience.
“At Signal Group, we pride ourselves on staying ahead of the curve by closely monitoring shifts in the media landscape,” said Chelsea Koski, President at Signal Group. “The Right-Wing Media Map is an essential tool for understanding the evolving dynamics of influence and audience engagement. By identifying the platforms and personalities driving narratives within the conservative ecosystem, we can adapt our strategies to ensure our messaging reaches the right audiences and resonates effectively.”
Graham will be hosting a webinar on Thursday, December 19 at 1pm to discuss the findings of the analysis in more detail. Click here to register for the event.
