Washington, D.C., March 13, 2024 – Signal Group, a leading integrated public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., today announced its full independence amid record growth and an increasingly diverse portfolio of clients. The firm, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wiley Rein LLP (Wiley) since 2014, is now wholly owned by Signal Management Committee member Blake Androff, who will serve as chief executive officer.
Androff tapped long-time Signal leader Chelsea Koski to serve as the firm’s President and oversee its day-to-day operations and Robert Bole to serve in a newly created position as Head of Innovation and Strategy. Both previously served on the firm’s Management Committee.
Androff’s purchase of Signal reflects the firm’s motivation to serve clients most effectively in a rapidly changing economy and public affairs landscape.
“For more than 22 years, Signal Group has been a leader in modern public affairs. Today, thanks to the incredible commitment of the entire team, Signal once again stands fully independent with a steadfast determination to deliver meaningful, modern solutions for clients,” said Blake Androff, CEO of Signal Group. “I am ecstatic as we write this new chapter and know our best days are ahead thanks to the dedication of our talented staff, wide suite of services, and partnership approach with clients to help them solve their most pressing challenges. This purchase means we can continue to build the best possible firm for our colleagues and clients and remain nimble and dynamic during a period of exponential growth.”
Under the leadership of Androff, Koski, and Bole, Signal has experienced historic growth by partnering with a portfolio of clients in renewable energy, healthcare, public lands, outdoor recreation, conservation, transportation, copyright, entertainment, international affairs, and more. Signal’s offerings to its client base focus on modern public affairs solutions, including media relations, owned and paid media, media training, AI-driven media analyses, thought leadership, message and content development, crisis and reputation management, corporate affairs, community engagement, digital advertising, audience insights, social media, creative, government affairs, and more.
Androff’s deal for Signal’s 100% independence was formally completed with the strong and enthusiastic support of Wiley.
“We have enjoyed working with Signal and being part of their growth over the last nine years. Their team has consistently provided innovative public affairs solutions to our clients in various industries,” said Peter D. Shields, Managing Partner at Wiley. “We are excited to continue to partner with Signal under Blake’s leadership and confident in the firm’s future as they grow the team, services, and partnerships.”
Signal’s headquarters will remain in Washington, D.C. with staff in strategic communities across the U.S., including Colorado, Georgia, New York, and Oregon.
