Top Washington Firm Rebrands as SIGNAL Group

Signal Group

New brand reflects continued innovation in strategic advisory solutions for clients worldwide

WASHINGTON, October 13, 2016 – McBee Strategic Consulting, a top government relations and strategic communications firm, today announced it has rebranded as SIGNAL Group to better reflect the evolution of the company.

The announcement of the SIGNAL name is the culmination of nearly two years of growth, including the company’s acquisition by Wiley Rein LLP, which created the only firm in Washington, D.C. to integrate legal and regulatory expertise with government relations, strategic communications, public affairs, and digital media for clients around the globe.

Today’s rebrand to SIGNAL reflects just the latest step in the execution of a multi-year strategic plan.

“Our goal at SIGNAL is to reach beyond the traditional business of advocacy, communications, and public affairs,” said Executive Committee Member and Wiley Rein Managing Partner Peter Shields. “Today’s audiences aren’t difficult to reach, but sustaining their attention and commanding action is what we have built SIGNAL to deliver.”

The rebrand reflects the company’s new mission, diversity of services, and strategic new hires. SIGNAL’s mission is to shape the future for clients and our world through integrated services backed by the deep regulatory and policy expertise of its parent, Wiley Rein LLP.

“We are a diversified industry leader being led by a group of talented, senior professionals overseeing dozens of clients with priorities around the globe. SIGNAL reflects that change in focus, brand, and mission,” said Managing Director Jeff Markey.

This year alone, SIGNAL enhanced its digital offering, hiring Garth Moore, who was previously Senior Digital Director of North America for ONE, Bono’s global anti-poverty organization. Building out its international FARA practice as well as defense lobbying capabilities, the firm also added Robert Marcus, former Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs for President Barack Obama. The firm also expanded its financial services and insurance capabilities, recruiting insurance industry veteran, Kim Dorgan, and financial policy expert, Langston Emerson.

“SIGNAL drives positive outcomes for our clients,” said Managing Director Eric Bovim. “We deploy strategies that break convention and create new possibilities. That is what SIGNAL represents.”

SIGNAL is led by an Executive Committee made up of eight professionals, including Managing Directors Eric Bovim, Robert Chamberlin, Kim Dorgan, Jeff Markey, and Sam Whitehorn, Chief Operating Officer Jessica Rihani. Wiley Rein Managing Partner Peter Shields and Partner Kim Melvin are also members of the Executive Committee.

The introduction of SIGNAL includes the launch of a new website that illustrates the firm’s experience, capabilities, and unique approach to understanding our clients’ businesses and tackling big challenges.
