With nearly ten years of strategic communications experience under her belt, Jess McCarron has been a trusted advisor and spokesperson to senior leadership in government, politics, and nonprofits. Bringing together her passion for nature with her policy communications expertise, Jess advises a variety of clients with a focus in conservation, sustainability, ocean, renewable energy, and other policy-driven programs. Jess takes a creative approach to storytelling and problem solving to help clients break through and shape the conversation around high-profile issues.
Prior to joining Signal, Jess served as Press Secretary and Strategic Communications Advisor to Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow on the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for nearly five years. She advised the Committee during the 2018 Farm Bill, developing communications strategies to build bipartisan support for climate-smart agriculture, food assistance, clean energy, forestry, land and water conservation, and more.
Before her work on Capitol Hill, Jess was an Obama Administration appointee at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, serving as Deputy Press Secretary to Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. Prior to that, she served as Regional Communications Director and Deputy National Press Secretary at Enroll America, the leading health care enrollment organization during the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. She earned her B.A. in Government and World Affairs with a minor in Communication from the University of Tampa.
