New Resource to Track Telehealth and Medtech Trends During Covid-19

We are introducing the COVID-19 Trend Report: Telehealth and Medtech. Signal’s new report will provide a deep dive into industry trends, progress, and policies.

Since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, we have seen the telehealth industry advance leap years over the course of a few months. In fact, experts estimate we have jumped the equivalent of 5-7 years in “medical” years in telehealth adoption. This says a lot given the slow pace of adoption for telehealth, with only 11% of consumers using telehealth tools pre-COVID-19. That number is now nearing 50%, according to a recent survey by McKinsey. To track these developments, we are introducing the COVID-19 Trend Report: Telehealth and Medtech. Signal’s new report will provide a deep dive into industry trends, progress, and policies.

As our health system quickly adapts, it is important to consider the big picture of telehealth in terms of impact on medical costs and quality. However, it is critical to focus on the micro: how telehealth and medical technologies day-to-day impacts on patients, family caregivers, health care providers and on the course of specific diseases and conditions. In our trends report you will find interviews with telehealth’s new entrants, as well as established medical organizations working to evolve traditional business models. We will provide the details on how organizations are keeping pace with demand and delivering healthcare in new ways during a pandemic. The report will also include health policies, personal perspectives and new thinking essential to ensuring the long-term success of telehealth.

Some upcoming topics include teletherapy, family caregivers, women’s health, rural health, tele-mentoring, and health disparities. If you have ideas for future topics, interviews, infographics and webinar/podcast speakers, please email Michelle Baker.
