Eben Burnham-Snyder led public affairs for the Department of Energy and brings decades of Congressional, political, and corporate experience to Signal
Washington, D.C., February 18, 2026 – Signal Group, an integrated, modern, and independent public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., today announced the hiring of Eben Burnham-Snyder to guide the firm’s growing energy practice. Eben joins Signal after more than 25 years in high-stakes public affairs roles spanning Congressional committees, the U.S. Senate, a federal agency, and a Fortune 500 company. In these roles, Eben developed public affairs strategies for cabinet members, elected officials, and C-Suite executives, personally advising them on the most pressing energy issues of our time.
“During a volatile yet vital and opportunistic period for the U.S. energy industry, Signal is fortunate to have Eben join our team as an accomplished, skilled leader ready to help guide our energy clients through it all,” said Chelsea Koski, President of Signal Group. “Eben’s experience building a public affairs program for a first-mover global energy company, coupled with running public affairs for a 100,000+ person agency, is a testament to his ability to navigate complex regulatory environments, manage risks, and develop strategies that achieve client results” added Koski.
Eben’s expertise arrives at a critical juncture for Signal’s energy clients and the U.S. energy industry as a whole. Signal is proud to partner with clients in the renewable energy, electricity transmission, critical minerals, international trade, farming, conservation, and climate policy spaces. Eben’s expertise will help these clients work with stakeholders, policymakers, and the ever-changing media environment to move the needle on priority issues.
“Signal has the right innovations, services, and talent to help those in the energy and environment space cut through the crazy and achieve their goals,” Eben said. “My goal at Signal is for our clients to turn worrying into winning by helping them navigate difficult public affairs challenges and mitigate reputational risk.”
Across roles with Cheniere Energy, the Department of Energy, Senator Edward J. Markey’s office (D-MA), the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee, and the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, Eben has spearheaded public affairs campaigns for dozens of energy, climate, and security issues—from the Iran Nuclear Deal to the largest energy efficiency rules issued in US history.
Most recently, at Cheniere Energy, Eben built the public affairs and communications function for an industry first-mover Fortune 500 company, guiding its leaders through a rapid expansion that included $50+ billion of infrastructure development. Additionally, he led the company’s reputational risk efforts during regulatory conflicts, congressional investigations, international trade and tariff battles, and geopolitical upheaval.
Eben’s ability to oversee Cheniere Energy’s complex global operation affairs was largely derived from his diverse breadth of experience in Washington. Prior to joining the company, Eben served as the top public affairs official for the Department of Energy and Secretary Ernest Moniz as a Senior Executive Service political appointee in President Obama’s second term. This appointment followed nearly 10 years on Capitol Hill in both the House and Senate as communications and speechwriting staff for now Senator Ed Markey and several committees. During this time on the Hill, Eben led communications efforts on the Waxman-Markey climate bill, BP oil spill, and groundbreaking fuel economy standards.
Additionally, Signal was pleased to welcome Parkash Sehgal, a Manager of Analytics and Insights. Park joins Signal after a four-year stint as a Media Analyst at the Environmental Defense Fund—and his addition will further bolster Signal’s growing in-house data analytics team. This team is spearheading Signal’s recently launched ‘AI Frame’, an in house digital intelligence platform that shows you how your organization appears across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini—and gives you a clear plan to improve it. Using proprietary language analysis and continuous monitoring, AI Frame tells you which key messages are landing, which are missing, and what to do about it.
Signal also recently announced the promotions of 10 team members and the hiring of Sarah Feldman, who led communications for Sens. Tester and McCaskill at the Senate. For more information on Signal Group’s modern public affairs offerings, visit Signal at https://signaldc.com/.
