Samah Shaiq Senior Manager

Samah Shaiq is a communications professional with a strong background in high profile political and government affairs. Her expertise includes rapid response, crisis communications, and media relations. She has strategized media planning and messaging on a wide-range of policy issues including clean energy and climate, immigration, healthcare, and the economy.

Prior to joining Signal, Samah served under the Biden-Harris Administration as Deputy Press Secretary for Secretary Jennifer Granholm at the U.S. Department of Energy. She used her passion for climate policy to lead the communications strategy for several programs including the Department’s solar, wind, artificial intelligence, and manufacturing and supply chain initiatives.

Samah previously worked on Capitol Hill for two years in the Office of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as Deputy Press Secretary, where she organized media engagements for the highest profile office in the U.S. House of Representatives. Working with the House Democratic Caucus, she strategized messaging to help pass key legislation including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Prior to that, Samah worked on several statewide campaigns in her home state of California. She is a proud Muslim-American and the daughter of Pakistani immigrants. Samah earned her B.A. in Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles.
