Shelby has been working in communications since her junior year of college, when she was a press intern for the 2012 Democratic National Convention Committee in Charlotte. She decided to take a semester off from her senior year at Davidson College to work on President Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign and the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee.

After finishing up school, Shelby moved back to DC to work for campaign consultant Joe Trippi, before heading to Philadelphia to work on the 2016 Democratic National Convention. As the Innovation Coordinator, Shelby managed the relationships with the major technology providers and coordinated the live streaming of the 2016 DNC, which streamed on more platforms than ever before. She then served in the Obama administration as a Deputy Press Secretary at the Department of Agriculture and most recently worked as the Deputy COO and Senior Communications Advisor for the 2020 Democratic National Convention Committee.

Shelby is a proud Davidson College alum, but stays true to her Kentucky roots as a Louisville sports fan. When she isn’t hard at work putting together strategic communications plans for her clients, you can find her at home cooking an Ina Garten recipe or exploring the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.
